Levels of Study

In order to study in Canada, an international student must be attending a designated learning institution (DLI). Not all schools in Canada are designated, so make sure you consult our DLI resource prior to applying for a Canadian school. 

Acceptance Letter

One of the key requirements for a study permit application, is a letter of acceptance. This is a letter from a Canadian educational institution stating that a person has been accepted into a program of study. With IMCA you can get your own acceptance letter!

Provincial attestation letter (PAL) 

is a document issued by the province of Ontario that must be included with your most recent study permit application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

Quebec is unique in the landscape of Canadian immigration because it organizes its own independent immigration policies. For international students, if you want to study in Quebec, first you have to obtain a Certificat d’acceptation du Quebec (CAQ). This is a legal document authorizing you to study in the province.
